The dramatic differences between the East Coast and the Midwest prompted Sara to write East Meets Midwest, a radio commentary aired on NPR affiliate KBIA Columbia.

While reporting for Columbia Missouri NPR affiliate KBIA, Sara reported and produced this piece on a rally staged by the confrontational Westboro Baptist Church to protest Columbia’s creation of a domestic partnership registry.

Radio Adelante is a Spanish-language radio news program broadcast on KOPN/89.5 FM in Columbia, Missouri. In addition to producing Radio Adelante, in Spring of 2009 Sara served on a rotating team of hosts for Women’s Issues, Women’s Voices, a talk show featuring the voices of women in the Columbia community.
